5-December 18: Midwest Races
Our
races in Thunder Bay for Dec 8 & 9 were cancelled. So I have been
sitting in Shoreview, Minnesota for three days now, rollerskiing
and praying for snow so that the races next week in Cable, Wisconsin
could take place. But despite insistences
from USSA that the races would go on now those races have
been cancelled too. So that means none of the five races scheduled
for this trip will happen. Well, at least I got to train at sea-level
a bit.

I
finished 14th in the Gold Cup. My placing was a bit disappointing,
but I skied very well. I gave it everything I had and I am pleased
with the result. Sure, I'd like to be in the top 8 and in contention
for the Olympic Team, but there are a lot of us who are skiing
extremely well right now. As long as I know I am doing my best
that is all I can ask for.

Nationals Website
After
Nationals I took a little time to relax. I still did some racing,
but I also used the time to catch up at work, see some Sundance
films, do a little snowboarding, and ski for fun. Here are the
races I have done, with links to results.
Wasatch Overland - I won, but I can't find results anywhere
Wasatch
Citizen Series One Day Pursuit - A few Japanese and Ukrainian
skiers participated, but the ones that I beat in the first leg
didn't start the second race, so they aren't on the results.
Idaho International
Grand Prix - Johann Muehlegg, Stephania Belmondo and other
Olympians did this race.
Boulder Mountain
Tour - I finished 13th. I got taken down in the first kilometer
and never recovered.
The
rest of the season will depend on how the races listed here turn
out. Stay tuned for races to be added.
